Terms for research use
These terms apply when you use spatialbiology.co.uk or RCC Explorer. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
The service
RCC Explorer helps researchers inspect, quality-check, normalise and visualise compatible molecular count data. Features may change as scientific methods and the service develop. Folder access requires a supported desktop browser and your permission.
No diagnostic use
The service is for exploratory research only. It is not a medical device, diagnostic service, clinical decision tool, regulatory submission system or substitute for qualified statistical and scientific review. QC flags are advisory: they do not automatically exclude samples or establish biological conclusions.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for study design, data quality, interpretation, validation, backups, exports and compliance with ethical, institutional and legal requirements. Verify important results independently before relying on them.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt, probe or bypass service security; access another person’s account; upload malware; infringe rights; or use the service unlawfully. Do not enter patient, participant, confidential research or special-category data into account fields. Research files should remain in the local Explorer workflow.
Your files and intellectual property
You retain rights in your files and results. RCC Explorer requests read-only access and does not claim ownership of them. You grant only the limited rights needed to process account information and operate the website.
Accounts
Keep account access secure and provide accurate information. We may restrict or suspend access where necessary to protect users, comply with law or address a material breach. You may request account deletion using the contact in the privacy notice.
Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, change or withdraw features. Where practical, material changes that affect users will be explained on the site.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Spatial Biology is not responsible for research decisions, lost data, lost opportunity or indirect loss arising from use of the service. Keep independent backups and validate outputs.
Third parties and attribution
The service uses third-party hosting and identity providers. It is independent software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NanoString Technologies or other instrument manufacturers. Product names may be trademarks of their owners.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. Questions may be sent to [email protected].
